Which Texas Southern Tigers games are worth watching in 2026?
Homecoming is the centerpiece. Texas Southern hosts Southern at Reliant Stadium on October 24, putting the Tigers in an NFL venue that seats 72,000 for the biggest stage of the university's "Road to 100" celebration, which marks the century from 1927 to 2027. The Labor Day Classic against Prairie View A&M also gets a fresh look: instead of opening the season, the rivalry moves to Sunday morning of Labor Day weekend, an 11:00 AM local kickoff at Panther Stadium designed to give the Classic a broadcast window all to itself.
The season starts with a first. North Carolina Central comes to Houston on August 29 for the programs' first-ever meeting and the Eagles' first game in the city since moving up to Division I — it is also Texas Southern's first Week Zero appearance since 2017. Two FBS road trips follow within a month, to UTEP in El Paso on September 12 and Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton on October 3, bookending the SWAC opener at Alcorn State.
