Which Ohio State Buckeyes games are worth watching in 2026?
September 12 in Austin is the biggest non-conference game in the country. It completes the home-and-home with Texas after Ohio State won a 14-7 defensive slog in Columbus last season, and ABC has already locked it into primetime — a rare early-season meeting between two programs that have spent recent Januarys knocking each other out of the Playoff. Then there is the last Saturday in November, when Michigan comes to Ohio Stadium for The Game at its traditional noon slot on FOX, the fixture that has decided the Big Ten more often than any other.
The conference schedule is unusually top-heavy in November. Oregon visits Columbus on November 7 in a meeting of two programs that have quickly become the Big Ten's clearest heavyweights since the league expanded, and it comes a week after a Halloween trip to Los Angeles to face USC. That West Coast swing is the sort of scheduling quirk the new Big Ten produces, and Ohio State gets a well-placed bye on October 24 to prepare for it. Homecoming on October 10 against Maryland is already guaranteed an afternoon or night window rather than the noon kickoff, so Columbus gets a full day of it.
