Which Furman Paladins games are worth watching in 2026?
October 3 is the date that matters most in Greenville, and it carries a number attached to it: the 100th meeting between Furman and Wofford, the oldest football rivalry in the Deep South, first played in 1889. It doubles as Family Weekend at Paladin Stadium, and the Terriers took last year's edition — reason enough for a full house at a 2:00 PM kickoff. Three weeks earlier the Paladins get their marquee payday at Neyland Stadium, where Tennessee hosts more than 100,000 in the only game on the schedule with a real television window rather than a stream.
The non-conference slate has genuine substance beyond the SEC trip. South Carolina State visits September 19 for the Palmetto Showcase as the reigning MEAC champion and Celebration Bowl winner, in a night game that should be the loudest of the home season. A week later Furman heads to Richmond, a perennial CAA playoff contender. Conference play then closes with three of the last four decided by history: Samford on Homecoming, tied to the university's bicentennial celebration; the November 7 trip to Johnson Hagood Stadium against The Citadel; and Senior Day against Chattanooga on November 14.
