Which Eastern Washington Eagles games are worth watching in 2026?
The September 19 trip to Husky Stadium is the biggest stage of the year — an in-state meeting with Big Ten member Washington in front of a crowd north of 65,000, and the only game on the schedule played at the FBS level. Two weeks later comes the most visible one: the Eagles travel to UC Davis on October 3 for a game on ESPN2, part of the first slate of Big Sky contests ever selected for national linear television. The trade-off is a 10:30 PM ET kickoff, so East Coast viewers will be up late.
Roos Field gets the two games that define the Big Sky season. Montana State visits on October 17 as the reigning FCS national champion, and after a bye, Montana comes to Cheney on Halloween — back-to-back home dates against the two programs that have dominated the league. The red turf has long been one of the more intimidating settings in the FCS, and both games carry regional Scripps Sports coverage on top of the stream. The regular season closes on Senior Day against Portland State, with a road trip to Idaho on November 7 sandwiched in between, renewing one of the oldest rivalries on the Palouse.
