Which Davidson Wildcats games are worth watching in 2026?
The one to circle is October 10 at Presbyterian, the Carolina Border Clash and the Battle for the 1919 Cup. It is the 37th meeting between the schools, and Davidson took last year's edition by a single point — the Wildcats have not visited Clinton since 2022, and a 5:30 PM kickoff gives it a proper primetime feel. The other marquee date comes early: Elon rolls into Davidson College Stadium on September 5 in a 6:00 PM meeting between neighbors from opposite ends of the FCS model, with the scholarship CAA program facing a non-scholarship PFL side. Two weeks later VMI makes the short trip from Lexington, renewing a series that has produced several tight, low-scoring games in recent years.
The season opens on a Thursday night under the lights against Division II Concord, Davidson's earliest start since 2021, and the schedule then swings to the unusual: Division III Dickinson visits on September 12, a rare cross-division matchup that has drawn some raised eyebrows around the FCS.
